Ethos

Notting Hill Prep was established through the active collaboration of experienced teachers and local parents, who recognised the need for a co-educational school in the area for children between the ages of 5 and 13.

The school is based on the principle that a successful education must be built on a partnership between teachers and parents. We encourage strong links between home and school to support our common goal of ensuring that each child feels secure, valued and happy while at school and is able to succeed to the best of his or her ability.

While its primary focus is on academic achievement, Notting Hill Prep aims to develop children's awareness of the diverse nature of today's society and to encourage a sense of responsibility both within the school and in the wider community. A varied curriculum is provided that responds to the individual needs of pupils to enable them to develop the whole spectrum of their talents and abilities. Academic subjects are balanced with ample time dedicated to Sport and subjects such as Art, Music and Drama, where the emphasis is on enjoyment and self-expression.

Pupils leave Notting Hill Prep with a strong academic foundation, combined with confidence in their abilities and social skills that will ensure they are fully prepared for the exciting challenges ahead. We aim to instil in our pupils an enthusiastic anticipation of the next stage of their education following a happy experience at prep school.
