Adventure Weekend Fun

Categories: Trips

Last weekend, 20 children from Years 4-8 joined us on an adventure to Bryanston School in Dorset. The children experienced an action packed weekend which saw them horse riding and learning from the experts how to be the perfect groom; picking their hooves, washing their tails and brushing their coats, as well as clearing out and cleaning their stalls! It was wonderful to see how much the children progressed, from tentatively mounting their horse to confidently trotting round the arena by the end of the session. In addition to this, the children ventured into the woods for a Forest School session, learning how to use tools safely to create some beautiful jewellery as well as a fantastic bug hotel and bird hide that we were able to bring back for our NHP woodland. The highlight for many was our Saturday film night, where the children cosied up on bean bags with hot chocolate and marshmallows to watch Matilda. On Sunday morning, children were able to select their activity, with some choosing to learn a new skill at the skateboarding park, while others took part in the competitive forest treasure hunt. Sadly, the weekend had to come to an end, and after one final fantastic lunch served down by the river, we had to pack up our coach and head home. Overall, the weekend was a great success and the children’s feedback was overwhelmingly positive. We will be running more adventure weekends in the spring term so keep your eyes on the newsletter for the opportunity to sign up!
