The Bursary Programme at Notting Hill Prep is led and managed by the NHP Foundation. The Foundation is a registered charity, working closely with, but independently of, the school. Each year, the Foundation offers a minimum of two fully funded places to children joining into Year 7 from the state sector. Additionally, we offer a Jane Cameron Bursary, established to honor the founding Head on her retirement, and awarded to a child, starting in Year 4, who shows outstanding promise in the creative arts.
Our bursaries are academically selective and means-tested. They cover not only fees, but educational trips, enrichment, activities and incidentals. Bursary students are completely integrated members in the rich life of our school. The annual cost for one bursary student is £20,000. This includes not only fees, but all extras such as uniform, trips, residentials, music lessons and termly clubs to ensure our bursary award holders experience an NHP education the same as their peers.
NHP parents donate via occasional fundraising initiatives and an optional termly add-on to the fees. Thanks to their ongoing generosity, 56 bursary places have been awarded to date.
The NHP Foundation ensures that our bursary pupils leave NHP with a scholarship or fully funded place at a senior school suitable for them. These include Charterhouse, Rugby, Dulwich College, Godolphin and Latymer, Wycombe Abbey, St. Edward’s, Latymer Upper, Westminster, City of London and The Harrodian. Witnessing these pupils’ success as they have consistently made the most of their time here is a privilege for our entire community.
