Notting Hill Prep School is proud to announce that it has been shortlisted for two national honours at the Education Business Awards 2026.

The school has been named a finalist for the Outstanding Progress Award Independent and the Play Space Award, recognising both our exceptional academic outcomes and our commitment to providing enriching environments in which children learn and thrive.

Organisers confirmed that schools are selected following detailed research into recent achievements, inspection findings, positive media coverage, and contributions to the wider education sector. Our shortlisting reflects the sustained dedication of our staff, pupils, and families, as well as the strength of our whole school community.

Outstanding Progress Award Independent

The Outstanding Progress Award recognises schools that demonstrate measurable academic advancement and pupil achievement. Notting Hill Prep School continues to see pupils secure an impressive range of 11+ and 13+ offers to leading senior schools, reflecting the strength of our academic provision and tailored approach to learning.

Pupils consistently move on to highly regarded independent senior schools, with scholarship success across academic, music, drama, and sporting disciplines. This strong record of 11+ and 13+ outcomes highlights our commitment to nurturing individual potential while maintaining high academic expectations.

The shortlisting for this award affirms the excellent progress pupils make throughout their time at the school and the firm foundations laid for continued success at senior level and beyond.

Play Space Award

The Play Space Award celebrates schools that recognise the vital role of play in child development. At Notting Hill Prep School, we are fortunate to offer a wide variety of play spaces in the heart of London, ensuring pupils benefit from both structured and imaginative outdoor experiences.

Alongside well designed playground areas, we are proud to provide access to our own woodland area. This unique space enables children to explore, take risks, develop resilience, and connect with the natural environment. Outdoor learning and play are embedded within our curriculum and wider school life, supporting physical wellbeing, creativity, collaboration, and confidence.

Awards Ceremony

This year’s awards will be presented by Matthew Burton, inspirational headteacher and star of the Channel 4 documentary series Educating Yorkshire.

Being shortlisted for two national awards is a significant achievement and a proud moment for the entire school community. It reflects our balanced philosophy, where academic excellence, personal development, and joyful learning are equally valued.
