NHP Habits and Values
Help pupils understand themselves, their learning and their emotions
With opportunities in the workplace both more wide-ranging and more fluid, we are conscious that a 21st century education needs to provide more than the simple acquisition of knowledge. We focus on the development of transferable skills in our pupils that will help them to succeed in the world beyond school.
We promote a set of core habits of mind that underpin the children’s learning, self-development and well-being during their time at school. The NHP Habits & Values provide a code of ethics and behaviours which teach our pupils to make good personal choices and to be a considerate and useful member of their community. These habits are also instrumental in the support of a steady and successful transition to senior school and in helping to craft the leaders of the future.
In Reception to Year 5, we have the NHP Rabbit with the Habits .
In Years 6, 7 and 8 these are refined into the NHP Values.
