Learning Support

Children with specific educational needs, identified either prior to entry or during their time at the school, are given additional support from our highly experienced Learning Enrichment Department (LED).

 

These children have a personalised teaching and learning programme designed to accommodate achievable targets. The SENCo works with the teachers, teaching assistants, child and parents to monitor progress and offer advice and support.

 

Typically our learning support is delivered through in-class differentiation, small group work, paired or one to one lessons. In the event that a child requires individual specialist tuition, this is given by the SENCo or another member of the LED team who is fully qualified to deliver a wide range of intervention programmes.

 

Specialist tuition is also available for pupils who need support transferring between two education systems or who have English as an additional language.

 

Whilst we very much operate a ‘challenge for all’ mentality, we provide a number of enrichment opportunities for those who are identified as gifted or talented in a particular area.
