Residential Trips

YEAR 4
In the summer term, year 4 have a two-night residential at Hooke Court in Dorset. Children camp out and sing around the camp-fire and take part in various bushcraft adventures. It is an important three days where the children gain in confidence and self-reliance.

YEAR 5
In the summer term, year 5 have a four-night residential at Calshot Activity Centre near Southampton.  During their visit children take part in a range of both land-based and water activities including kayaking, climbing and abseiling, orienteering and coastal exploration. The activities promote self-reliance, responsibility and heightened self-esteem. Children come away from the residential generally exhausted but with their heads held high.

YEAR 6

In the summer term, year 6 travel abroad to Argueil, near Rouen, in Normandy for a French cultural trip.  Here they have the opportunity to develop their French language, make french food, meet school children in a local primary school and experience the French way of life.

YEAR 7

In the autumn term, year 7 go on a bonding trip to Dartmoor where they split their time between gaining important knowledge for their Geography course-work and team building exercises.  This helps to re-calibrate the year after some leave for 11+ schools, further strengthen their friendships and integrate any new children into the group.

YEAR 8

Post final exams, year 8 embark on their much anticipated trip to Cornwall.  Here they spend the week surfing, coasteering, playing zorb football on the beach and generally letting off steam at the tail end of their NHP journey.

Other Trips

A week long annual NHP Ski Trip to the Alps during February half term open to all children in Year 4 and above, beginners – advanced.
