NHP Easter Ski Trip – Saas-Fee 2025

Categories: Sport Trips

A Wonderful Week in the Swiss Alps

Over the Easter break, a group of NHP pupils travelled to the picturesque resort of Saas-Fee, Switzerland for a week of skiing and fun in the mountains. We were fortunate to enjoy wonderful weather throughout—glorious sunshine for much of the week, with a welcome snowfall midweek that refreshed the pistes and also provided the challenge of skiing in a whiteout.

All pupils made excellent progress on the slopes. In particular, our beginners’ group showed remarkable improvement, progressing further and faster than any previous cohort. By the end of the week, they were confidently navigating red runs high on the mountain—an impressive accomplishment. The more advanced groups explored the full extent of the resort over the course of the week, tackling some jumps, enjoying the fun slopes, trying off-piste skiing, and achieving some impressive results on the slalom course.

Evenings offered a variety of activities, including bouldering, a relaxed film night, the ever-popular Saas-Olympics (featuring a series of hilarious, light-hearted games), a lively Saas-Auction, and a torch-lit walk through the local town, complete with marshmallow toasting. Each evening began with our daily ‘Nelly’ and ‘Cool Kid’ nominations—a chance for pupils to share humorous or inspiring stories from the day. These moments brought everyone together, helping pupils make new friends across year groups and enjoy each other’s company.

The highlight of the week was working with our expert ski instructors, who were not only highly supportive and eternally positive, but also commented that NHP was “one of the best (and most fun!) school groups they’d worked with.”

Overall, the trip was a great success, and pupils returned with new-found confidence and some wonderful memories of their time in the mountains. A huge thank you to the NHP staff for accompanying our skiers and for their incredible hard work and support throughout the week: Mr Hadley, Ms Swales, and Mrs Robinson.
